- *"Why Isn't Transcendental Meditation in More Schools?" with Dr. Stixrud (2 min)
Dr. Stixrud: "Given how powerful these Quiet Time Programs are, why aren't they more widely adopted? It's interesting, I was asking my friends who are very experienced educators: "Can you think of an educational intervention that actually worked?" They couldn't think of a single thing. It seems like every reform focuses on cramming things into kids' brains that do not regard how it affects the brain. Our obsession with testing is creating so much stress- anything that makes it more stressful is counterproductive." "Nothing comes close to doing what the Quiet Time programs do. The evidence is just so powerful." Bob: "Now in NYC, it's just a matter of resources. The different charter schools, public and private schools that want the teachers to come in and do it, it's just been in the last few months, that the walls have come down. Now it is just a matter of rolling it out." Excerpt from: David Lynch Foundation Executive Director Bob Roth and clinical neuropsychologist Dr. Bill Stixrud during Q&A from an event at NYC's Rubin Museum of Art on Transcendental Meditation and the brain.

Clarence Cormier President, Canadian Association for Stress-Free Schools, Former Education Minister of New Brunswick “When I served as Minister of Education for the province of New Brunswick, I investigated every program available to help our students to gain the most from their education. Today, I can say without hesitation that the Transcendental Meditation program is the only program that I know of that has been proven to be able to help every student irrespective of their level of ability."
